Being a good man is not the same thing as being a nice guy. I'm prepared for my drumhead court-martial, for any offenses I've committed in action.
  • Trump just met with Tina Peters in the Oval Office

  • The free press has been banned from the Oval Office.

An economic collapse of their economy is on the near horizon. The US petrodollar is close to gone.
El Nino will reek havoc globally within weeks.
I'll be saying a few things here.
The main event and defining start of World War III  are within these points.

My thoughts and some details are below, (I'll show my work).

"People suck and that's my contention. I can prove it on scratch paper and a pen. Give me a fucking Etch-A-Sketch, I'll do it in three minutes to prove the fact, the factorum, I'll show my work, case closed. I'm tired of this backslapping, aren't humanity neat bullshit. We're a virus with shoes, OK? That's all we are."  - Bill Hicks

First-off, and most importantly - I love you all. Starting of course with my family and friends. Anyone in these two categories knows that I love everyone. Simply put, I love everyone. And we're all in this, now.

The crux of everything and all else of what I'll write here is this: It's over. The beginning of the end has already started. (It's over).

It's over. It is over. For us, anyway, it's done. Finished. Things as we've mostly known them to be, and our lives that have contained the things we considered as our lives, is largely over. It's finished. Finished in the way the Titanic was finished even before it hit the iceberg, (because it was going to hit it). After it hit followed the pattern we're all soon be experiencing - following the attack or the bombing or the collapse of whatever is coming.  We'll cling to some measure of relative buoyancy for a good couple of hours before it all eventually - and irrevocably - will disappear from sight. The die was cast long before they actually hit the thing.

When the car you're driving runs out of gas, you might coast for a while. Already heading downhill helps, but, the engine won't be cranking again.

We Earthlings will/likely continue to breathe and eat and walk and talk and work and play and watch hockey and water the plants and make and buy cinnamon-spiced things, and so yes, in these ways, we will continue to 'live'. But in general it's over. It's all lost. (We lost).

There are simply too many big, scary, smelly, unusually disruptive and frankly, unsolvable/intractable problems for our defective Human brains to ever fix, either collectively or as individuals. In the 80s, we saw that there was a massive and very measurable hole in the ozone layer above the Amazon rainforest. At the time, that seemed like an eventual Game Over situation. But in time, we fixed that.

In the next few months, before 2026 is over, some things will occur (or have already begun an irrevocable process of occurring), that will continue to lay more of the basic truths bare. Some of our problems are now simply too big, too entrenched  - and simply intractable. To stop a speeding freight train. Laden with deadly cargo, with nobody at the switch able willing to do what is needed. The physical laws that Newton came up with - the inescapable truths about the way the universe works -  weren't just suggestions.

There are more guns in the US than there are people, for instance. This is only one of the dozens and dozens of the impossible-to-ever-fix problems left for radioactive zombies and AI robots to sort-out amongst themselves. But as an animal species on Earth - we're done.

I was taught to be curious about the world. I largely grew-up this way. And I learned to question things - many things - and to see and feel and hear and touch and explore the world towards making my own mind up about what it all meant, (or could possibly mean, eventually, one day).

I grew-up believing David Suzuki. Just two years ago, he told us that any large-scale mitigation of climate change is just "too late" now, and that the fight has been lost. So here's my first thing, which overrides any other problemos:

The ecological / environmental tipping-point was reached over two years ago. Many will die from this. (It's over). The canoe has flipped, and we, along with our scattered belongings, are floating now, soon to be clogging-up the works downstream, then sinking to the bottom, because it's over. Keep recycling and get yourself that oil change - give yourself something to do, (and thanks for switching to paper straws), but it's over.

The Russian Federation will openly attack a NATO member. (In addition to the incremental and  warfare of the last 12 years.
To be more precise, the loosely-affiliated while also joined-at-the-hip alliance of the present-day shitbag governments of Russia, China, India, MAGA/'Murica, North Korea et al will be conjoined/complicit in attacking the NATO/Western alliance in broad, obvious, indisputable and open ways. (For several years, there have been incursions -  Russian-backed fighters violating NATO airspace, drones probing where they shouldn't be probing, attacks on a commercial vessels, bombs landing where they shouldn't be landing, and many things blamed on "mistakes" - things that all seemed somewhat foggy and not definitive. Is this, "war"? Just as it was very clear when Ukraine was (again) attacked in February 2022, and just as it was indisputable that Poland was attacked in September 1939, in this year, 2026, a country clearly within NATO will be clearly attacked. Poland 1939 - Germany and Russia both agreed on it. Greenland in 2026 - the US and Russia have agreed to it.

The robots will come for us. AI will kill.

About 10 or so years ago, just about the time when Trump was fully imposing himself on the world though still not yet elected, Bruce and I were in his home, sitting on chairs and couches, and talking about world politics, as we often do. Among other things, the reality of Israel was discussed. At the time at least, (I don't know if his views have changed since), Bruce portrayed himself a defender of that country. "It's the only democracy in the region", and, "it's the only order within a sea of chaos", and/or other things to that effect. I took a very contrary position, labelling the "country" as a horrendously murderous pox on humanity. I specifically mentioned their shitbag PM. I won't remember verbatim details, but I recall perfectly that I said Palestinians were living in an open-air concentration camp and that Netanyahu was likely responsible, at least indirectly, for the assassination of Yitzak Rabin. He said I was talking crazy.

Leaders of countries and politicians don't normally or actually work with their hands - they mainly use their mouths. They give speeches, they say things. They'll give a speech at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at a brand new facility, (and use the opportunity to actually cut the ribbon with a pair of overly-large prop scissors). Aside from the symbolism, a politician (in a suit and tie and new shoes) is pressed into actual physical "work" at a newly-commissioned 'shovel-ready' project amounts to nothing more than the symbolic first dig at the dirt with a gleaming new never-before-used prop shovel. The work doesn't extend past that - except to talk.

Political leaders mostly just talk, but in so doing, they can incite.
